DotX LLC ("DotX," "we," "us," or "our") operates Recall 9 ("Recall 9," "the App," or "the Service"), an AI-powered note-taking and second-brain application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website, mobile applications, and related services.
By accessing or using Recall 9, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information from Google Sign-In
Recall 9 uses Google Sign-In for authentication. When you sign in with Google, we receive information from your Google account that you authorize, which may include:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your Google profile picture
- A unique Google account identifier
We do not receive or store your Google password. Google's use of your data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
1.2 Content You Provide
We collect the content you create, upload, or store in Recall 9, including notes, ideas, links, memories, tags, and other materials you choose to save in the App.
1.3 Usage and Behavioral Data
To personalize your experience and improve the Service, we collect information about how you interact with Recall 9. This may include:
- Features and screens you use
- Search queries and interactions within the App
- How you organize, view, and retrieve your content
- Session duration, frequency of use, and general usage patterns
- Device type, operating system, app version, and language settings
- Crash logs and performance diagnostics
We use this behavioral data to tailor recommendations, surface relevant content, improve AI features, and enhance the overall user experience.

We use the information we collect to:

- Provide, operate, and maintain Recall 9
- Process your content through AI features powered by Google Gemini
- Personalize your experience based on your usage patterns and preferences

3. AI Processing with Google Gemini
Recall 9 uses Google Gemini to power AI features such as content organization, search, summarization, suggestions, and other intelligent capabilities. When you use these features:
- Your content and related prompts may be transmitted to Google's servers for processing
- Google processes this data in accordance with its own terms and privacy policies
- Depending on the Gemini API or product configuration in use, your data may be used by Google to improve and train its AI models, unless otherwise restricted by applicable Google policies or enterprise agreements
Important: Do not submit sensitive personal information (such as financial account numbers, government IDs, health records, or confidential third-party data) to AI features unless you accept the risks of sharing that information with third-party AI providers.

4. Data Storage and Security
4.1 Encryption in Transit
Data transmitted between your device and our servers is protected using industry-standard encryption in transit (such as TLS/HTTPS).
4.2 Storage at Rest
Your data is not encrypted at rest in our database. While we implement access controls, monitoring, and other security measures, content stored on our servers is not encrypted while at rest in the database. You should not store highly sensitive information in Recall 9 unless you understand and accept this limitation.
4.3 Security Measures
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. How We Share Your Information
We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: With third parties that help us operate the Service, including Google (for authentication and Gemini AI processing), cloud hosting providers, analytics tools, and customer support platforms
- Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
- Protection of rights: To enforce our Terms of Service, protect the safety of users, or defend against legal claims
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their independent marketing purposes.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may also retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and support legitimate business operations. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate backup and security purposes.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or California, additional rights may apply under GDPR, UK GDPR, or the CCPA/CPRA. We will honor applicable legal requirements.
8. Children's Privacy
Recall 9 is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our service providers (including Google) may operate. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using Recall 9, you consent to the transfer of your information to these locations.
10. Third-Party Links and Services
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through in-app notifications or email. Your continued use of Recall 9 after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
